A Sacred Urban Ashram in Rishikesh For Self Healing, Sādhanā, and Community
A Sacred Urban Ashram in Rishikesh for Self Healing, Sādhanā, and Community
Dr. Yogrishi Vishvketu is a Himalayan master of Yoga and founder of the Akhanda group. With over 40 years of committed sādhanā and a PhD in Yoga Philosophy, he has taught tens of thousands of students worldwide — integrating the wisdom of the scriptures with practical, embodied living.
As a spiritual diplomat and humanitarian, his work extends beyond the classroom, into education, empowerment, and ecological stewardship. Anand Prakash Ashram is one of his primary gifts to the global Yoga community — a physical space where his vision of holistic Yogic living is brought to life.
In the heart of Tapovan, Rishikesh — where the Gaṅgā flows and the mountains rise —
Anand Prakash Yoga Ashram has served as a sanctuary of Yogic renewal and community upliftment for nearly 20 years.
It is more than just a place of practice —it is a living pulse of Self healing,Sādhanā and Spiritual Revival
In a world leaning increasingly toward commercialism, this Ashram remains a sanctuary of authenticity over convenience — offering rituals, meditation support, schooling, and accessible Yogic programs as gifts to the community, not commodities.
Every morning at 7:45 AM, the Ashram community gathers for a sacred fire ceremony — Agni Hotra — a Vedic ritual of healing, purification and manifestation.
Guided by the Akhanda team and open to all, this practice creates a powerful field of intention, peace, and renewal. Mantra, elements, devotion, and collective presence invite deep Self-transformation — both personal and collective.
No registration required.
Visitors are welcome to attend in silence or join in the sacred chants.
Contribute towards Fire PoojaJoin us in song, rhythm, and shared joy. Weekly kirtans are offered in the Ashram temple space. Through the devotional path of Bhakti Yoga, kirtan connects us to the heart and to each other — transcending language and uniting voices in sacred sound.
Tuesdays & Thursdays at 7:15 PM
All are welcome to attend — and we warmly invite those who would like to lead or share a kirtan to reach out.
Unlike secluded forest Ashrams, Anand Prakash Yoga Ashram occupies the space between tradition and modernity. It welcomes a diverse range of guests — from first-time aspirants to experienced Yoga teachers — and invites each to live the teachings with humility, structure, and joy.

Know MoreThe Ashram is dedicated to reviving and sharing authentic tools and techniques of ancient Yogic wisdom, particularly those rooted in the Vedic Adinath Shiva lineage.
From mantra and mudrā to Karma Yoga and self-inquiry, daily Ashram life invites sincere seekers to integrate the full spectrum of Yogic practice in a living, breathing environment.
The Ashram is guided by the vision of preserving timeless teachings while making them accessible and meaningful for the world today.
As part of our service to India's spiritual heritage, the Ashram regularly hosts Bhandāra — traditional feasts for sādhus and renunciates in the Rishikesh area.
These sacred meals are prepared and served with love, honouring those who have renounced worldly life in pursuit of spiritual realization. Bhandāra are held during festivals, sacred astrological windows, and in alignment with traditional observances.
Donations directly support food, supplies, and respectful offerings for these revered spiritual seekers.
